      The Michael Ramsey Lecture November 6, Little St. Mary’s, Cambridge. By Simon Oliver. I t is a great pleasure to join you this evening to honour one of the great Anglican theologians and Bishops of the 20th century, Michael Ramsey. I have many illustrious predecessors as Van Mildert Professor at Durham. Michael Ramsey's modern classic The Gospel and the Catholic Church is as relevant today as it was when itwas first published some 70 years ago. In it Ramsey understands the church as a reflection the death and resurrection of Christ, and then argues that the various expressions of Christianity today each express their own gifts in accordance with the Resurrection, whether Brand: Hendrickson Publishers.

    Michael Ramsey was perhaps the most respected articulator of Anglicanism for the twentieth century. Central to Ramsey's approach to theology was the gospel of Jesus' life, death, burial, and resurrection. For Ramsey this gospel revealed the very nature and glory of God.
